Robertson Follows Up Win

With Top Five Finish at Ace Speedway

Altamahaw, NCFollowing his recent win at Ace Speedway, Ryan Robertson and his #31 Sheetz Chevrolet continued his strong performance at the 4/10′s mile track Friday night with a top five finish.

“Flyin’ Ryan”, as he is beginning to be referred to at the track, posted the fastest time in practice and qualified third.  Robertson held his position for most of the grueling 100 lap race alongside legendary late model driver Barry Beggarly, whom Robertson was able to fend off for a win just two weeks prior.

The two battled for several laps, but in order to ensure a top five finish and run a clean race, Robertson dropped back to fourth with just 40 laps to go.

“This was a great finish after a spectacular win at this track just two weeks ago,” Robertson said. “A big shout goes out to my guys and to Sheetz for a giving me a good car tonight.”

Robertson has had a flurry of strong showing this season, with two wins, four top fives and six top tens in just nine starts.  The team now turns their sights towards the Virginia is for Racing Lovers 300 in Martinsville, VA, where Robertson and his Sheetz machine posted an impressive fourth fastest qualifying time, with a speed of 20.329 seconds, among some of the country’s top late model racers last year.
