Winston-Salem, NC: In what some fans referred to as “one of the best Sportsman Division races in the history of Bowman Gray Stadium”, Bryant Robertson, driver of the #72 Carolina Wood Floors/Winston-Salem State Motorsport Management Chevrolet, showed that he can overcome any challenge thrown at him with a top five finish.

Starting off this 60 lap race, in 15th place, Bryant Robertson held his position before being involved in an accident on the backstretch on lap 13 of the caution filled race.  The Robertson Motorsports team jumped into action and was able to get Robertson back on the track in time for the restart.

At the midpoint, Robertson moved from the back of the field into second place.  After trying to avoid the largest wreck of this race, the #72 Chevrolet received some slight damage, resulting in a second trip to the pits.

Returning to the race while under caution, Robertson was spun on the restart.  Fortunately, he was able to quickly return to the top five before being involved in a third caution with just 18 laps to left to in the race.  This finish moved Robertson from third to second in the Sportsman Division points at the famed ¼ mile.

Robertson said that he was not only impressed with how fast his #72 Carolina Wood Floors/Winston-Salem State Motorsports Management Chevrolet was on Saturday night, but how well his team performed.  “Saturday night’s race showed some real challenges that this team had to overcome,” said Robertson.  “Fortunately, we don’t let anything stop us from ‘playing the game’ and staying on top of any challenge that is thrown at us.”

Taking a break for the 4th of July holiday; Bryant Robertson will return to Bowman Gray Stadium on Saturday, July 9.
