Sheetz Racing At Bowman Gray Stadium

Winston-Salem, NC:  Following last week’s win at Ace Speedway, The #31 Sheetz Chevrolet, driven by Ryan Robertson, had another strong showing Saturday at Sheetz Ladies Night at Bowman Gray Stadium.

After greeting his fans, Ryan Robertson and his #31 Sheetz Chevrolet, began the night with an 8^th place start in the first 20 lap Sportsman race.  Narrowly avoiding a bumper to bumper pile up in lap 12, Robertson quickly moved into the sixth position.  Two short laps later, Robertson was able to quickly weave his way into the top five where he crossed the finish line in 4^th place.

The second 20 lap Sportsman race of the night saw Ryan Robertson in the 7^th starting position.  After a restart resulted in a bunch up of the 22 car field, Robertson dropped back to the 9^th position, but that didn’t last long.  With just two laps to go, Robertson moved into sixth place and held this position until the checkered flag flew.

“The car was really great,” said Robertson.  “I wish these Sportsman races were a little longer because I think that we could have pulled off at least a top three for Sheetz if we had a few more laps. As everybody knows, it’s tough here when you don’t get a strong draw.”

Fred McConnell, Director of Brand Development for Sheetz, said that he was glad to be in attendance for Sheetz Ladies Night on Saturday.  “Not only did we see some exciting racing, but we also got to see Ryan and our Sheetz car in action.  Ryan’s having a good season this year and he put on a good show for all of our local Sheetz employees who were in the stands cheering him on.”
